High Among Alpine Flowers

Three typical different alpine valleys in Julian Alps and different ways of life.

From Cerkno and later above  Bohinj lake (520m) on First World War trail up to Komna plato (1300m) (mountain hut) than moderate hiking to mountain hut Seven Triglav lakes – 1.800m (overnight). Passing  rest of seven Triglav lakes on Dolič mountain hut 2.300m . Possible ascent on Triglav (2864m)- 4hours up and down. Descent to Trenta valley – Info point of Triglav Nationa park (overnight). Ascent to Vršič pass and than over pass Sleme descent to Tamar, Planica with the biggest ski jumping centre in Slovenia and further to worldwide known Kranjska Gora- Alpine skiing.

The overnights are in small hotels wich are specialised for hikers and in mountain huts,

Walks are along the Slovenian part of Via Alpina Trail which starts in Monaco and ends in Austria and part on Sloveina high trail – the longest transslovenians trail.

 

Day 1  Arriving in Hotel Cerkno ***, 4 hikers specialisation in Cerkno

 

Day 2  Transfer to Poček and thanhike to the top of Porezen (+600m 3 hours). Descent to

            Petrovo Brdo mountain hut- 2 hours (-300m). Dinner, Overnight

 

Day 3  Stip hike to the top of Črna prst – 4 hours, mountain hut, thah 4 hour walk on the

            Ridge of soth Bohinj mountains to ski centre Vogel- mountain hut Merjasec

             Dinner, overnigjt. Moderate day (+1000m,-200m)

 

Day 4  Hike to Komna plataue-mountain hut, 3 hours   . moderate, further to mountain hut

            Seven Triglav lakes,easy, 3 hours, dinner, overnight (+300m,-200m)

 

Day 5  Walking up Triglav seven lakes valley to mountain hut Dolič. From ther is possible to

            Hike 2 hours stip (ferata) up to the top of highest Sloveian mountain Triglav 2864m

            Or direct descent (-1400m)to Trenta valley , 4 hours to the Triglav National Park Info

            Centre lodge.Overnight

 

Day 6   Hike to spring Soča under Vršič pass, 1 hour, +200m, ascent to Vršič pass 3 hours

            To mountain hut (+600m), dinner, overnight

 

Day 7   Ascent to pass Sleme (+200m, 2 hours), descent to Tamar valley, 3 hours (-700m)

            -mountain hut. Further flat 2 hours to Kranjska Gora via Planica ski jumping resort

            To Hotel Lek****, 4 hikers

 

Day 8  rest day in Kranjska Gora surroundings

 

If ascent to the top of Triglav you need additional one day, probably
